Speedmaster XL 145 and XL 162

The new solutions for large-format printing from Heidelberger Druckmaschinen AG (Heidelberg) - the Suprasetter 145/162/190 platesetters and the Speedmaster XL 145 and Speedmaster XL 162 presses - have been honored at the renowned international "red dot design award: product design 2008", receiving the red dot seal of quality for exceptional design. Since 1995, 16 Heidelberg products have now received this prestigious award in a range of categories.

The products submitted to the red dot design award are judged by an international panel of design experts. They evaluate and test the products, assessing them according to specific criteria such as degree of innovation, functionality, ergonomics, durability, ecological soundness and self-explanatory quality. The prize is awarded to products that display outstanding levels of creativity, innovation, and quality. Over 3,200 products from 51 countries were submitted for consideration this year

"Receiving the red dot award for these recently introduced large-format printing solutions proves that Heidelberg is also setting the standard as far as design is concerned both within the print media industry, and throughout the entire investment goods industry. We know that our customers base their investment decisions on various factors - in doing so, they must be confident that they are acquiring cutting-edge technology, but functionality and a visually attractive design also play a crucial role," comments Dr. Jürgen Rautert, Member of the Management Board responsible for Engineering and Manufacturing at Heidelberg. "New_Arc design will be our line of the future - it is based on technical emotion and offers great scope for the future," adds Rautert.
